Bruce Peninsula Environmental Film Festival
August 9 - 16, 2008

The Bruce Peninsula Bird Observatory and Bruce Peninsula Environment Group will be hosting the 2nd annual Environmental Film Festival. The Festival will offer classic movies and documentaries with the theme THE COST OF GREED. Each film will be introduced by Dr. Stephen Scharper, Associate Professor of Environmental Ethics at the University of Toronto, with eight years experience teaching film studies. Each showing will be followed by a discussion (optional) mentored by Dr. Scharper.

All showings begin at 7:30pm in the Anglican Church Hall, Lion’s Head, except for the documentary ‘Thirst’ as noted below.

Tickets: $10 (adults) $5 (students) Passports: $35 (for all 6 films)

Wednesday, August 13 - Documentaries: Thirst and Planting With The Planet In Mind (Note venue location: National Park Visitor Centre)
Friday, August 15 - Documentary: Escape from Suburbia: Beyond the American Dream
Saturday, August 16 - Classic Movie: Mr. Smith Goes To Washington

The Environmental Film Festival is sponsored by the Bruce Peninsula Bird Observatory and the Bruce Peninsula Environment Group, with assistance from Bruce Peninsula National Park. Proceeds from the Festival will support the Bruce Peninsula Bird Observatory’s Migration Monitoring Program at the Cabot Head Research Station.
