On Monday September 29, 2008 at 7.30pm Canadian Centres for Teaching Peace (CCTP) and the White Rose Coffeehouse will be hosting a "Peace Café" social night and speaker on the issues of peace-building at the community level. The presentation of the evening will be entitled "Building Peace at the Community Level through ‘Peace Cafés’ as Centres for Teaching Peace", by peace education advocate and CCTP founder Robert Stewart, C.A., C.M.C, from Okotoks, Alberta.
As part of this evenings events, the White Rose Coffeehouse will be starting its membership as Canada's second official "Peace Café". The first Peace Café is at the Skydragon Centre in downtown Hamilton, Ontario, and there are currently plans underway to create a third in Calgary, Alberta.
